Dr. Wiebe has been a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 2003. She graduated from York University in 1993 with a specialized honours degree in psychology. She attended graduate school at the University of Toronto/Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and received her doctoral degree in 2001.
Dr. Wiebe has been providing counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and groups since 1994. She has worked with a wide range of adults and adolescents in several settings, such as university counselling centres, an inner-city hospital, the youth justice system, as well as within the general community as a private practitioner.
Dr. Wiebe has expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating clinical disorders including, but not limited to: Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma- and Stress-Related Disorders, and Personality Disorders.
She has extensive experience in providing evidence-based psychotherapy for a wide range of presenting issues, such as:
- Bipolar Disorder
- Sexual abuse
- Complex trauma
- Personality Disorders
- Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
- Life adjustments and/or existential issues
- Stress management
- Anger management
- Aggressive and violent behaviour
- Suicidal risk
- Grief/traumatic grief
- Interpersonal problems
Since Dr. Wiebe provides evidence-based psychotherapy, she will utilize various therapeutic interventions dependent upon each client’s assessed needs. Dr. Wiebe prefers to work very closely with each of her clients in order to collaboratively develop agreed-upon treatment goals. All interventions will be provided in a therapeutic environment that is warm, empathic, and emotionally focused.
