Mike Fidler MSW RSW
Mike Fidler has a Master of Social Work degree and is a Registered Social Worker. He has been trained as a custody access mediator through the University of Toronto, has a certificate from the University of Toronto in Psychosocial Factors in Rehabilitation, has an Advanced Family Therapy training certificate from the George Hull Family and Children's Centre and has a certificate in Addiction Studies from the University of Toronto. Mike is a certified Gottman methods couples therapist and has completed advanced training in EFT emotional focused couples therapy with Susan Johnson. Mike has completed advanced training in didactic developmental psychotherapy with Daniel Hughes and is in the final stage of training for certification in these methods.
He worked at the Haldimand Norfolk Children's Aid Society for twelve years as a child abuse specialist, taught provincially and nationally for over six years for the Institute for the Prevention of Child Abuse, has been in private clinical practice for over 25 years and manages Mike Fidler & Associates Inc. Mike has volunteered for over 20 years as a marriage preparation trainer.
As part of Mike's general clinical practice, he provides organizational relationship mediation, communication counselling with conflicting ex-partners, anger management, a variety of employee related counselling, motor vehicle accident and brain injury related issues, drug & alcohol related issues, childhood abuse related issues, attachment issues in childhood and adulthood, mental health issues, marriage counselling, individual adult and youth counselling, and child and family counselling. Mike assists clients with a wide range of personal and relationship issues. Mike has a particular interest in children from separated families and their recovery, and children with attachment and trauma difficulties and their recovery.
