Wayne Herter, B.A, LL. B Associate Mediator
Wayne Herter has been mediating disputes in the Haldimand-Norfolk area since attaining his Certificate in Mediation from the University of Windsor in 1995. In order to concentrate on the area of Family Law, he completed the “Advanced Mediation For The Family Practitioner” in 1996. Since that time, he has successfully mediated property settlements and custody and access disputes for families. The process is best suited for those couples who are willing to work toward taking control and seeking self-determination as to how best to structure the change in their relationship.
In conjunction with his mediation experiences, Wayne has been practicing law in the Haldimand-Norfolk area since his call to the Bar in 1984. While engaged in private practice in the area of Criminal and Civil Litigation, including Family Law, Wayne also served for fifteen years as a part-time Assistant Crown Attorney, for twelve years as a lawyer for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, and for five years as an agent for the Family Responsibility Office.
Wayne is currently employed as Senior Counsel with the Haldimand-Norfolk Children’s Aid Society and serves as Vice-Chairman of the Organization of Counsel for Children’s Aid Societies in Ontario.
