Leon Hudecki, MSW RSW

Leon Hudecki has had extensive experience working with individuals, families and marriage relationships. He has a Master’s Degree in Social Work, is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and is a Registered Social Worker. He is certified in Family Mediation and, having been trained and certified in Critical Incident Stress Management, has had considerable involvement with Trauma Intervention.

 

Leon has worked on a Police Crisis Intervention Team, has been employed by both the Haldimand and Norfolk Children’s Aid Societies as a Child Abuse Specialist and Supervisor of Services for twelve years. For the past fifteen years, he has worked in the community college system providing Psycho-Educational Assessment and counselling to students to assist with career and life direction. He has also taught in Human Services Programs (Human Sexuality – Psychology – Family Intervention). As our community’s industrial base changed, with loss of employment for many, he directed and participated in numerous Labour Adjustment Programs, assisting those affected to link to employment opportunities.

 

Leon’s clinical practice focuses primarily on individuals who are struggling with mood disorders and those seeking adjustment to an ever-challenging world. “How can I fit in or get grounded or get assistance with anger management or deal with a conflictual marriage?” As families evolve into many new forms and definitions, coping with reconstituted family relationships and issues is overwhelming to many, and Leon has prime expertise in these areas. Finally, counselling employees with either difficult employment situations or issues that interfere with their work has been very successful using a short-term “solution-focused” model of intervention.
