Andrea Winger  MSW, RSW

Andrea has a Master of Social Work degree and is a Registered Social Worker. She has a certificate in Grief Counselling from Wilfred Laurier University. She is currently participating in the Intergenerational Trauma Treatment Model (ITTM) training at REACH. Andrea has extensive knowledge in the areas of bullying and victimization, self-harm, crisis intervention, parent-child conflict, anger management, and relationship issues. Her current position as a Social Worker at the Grand Erie District School Board, as well as her past experience with the Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand Norfolk as a Child Protection Counsellor and a Resource Worker, have provided Andrea with a venue to hone her counselling skills with children and their families.

 

Andrea keeps her knowledge current by attending conferences and workshops. These have included: ADHD, Anxiety Problems in Children, Threat Assessment, Self Harm, Youth, Drugs and Mental Health, Solution-Focused Interventions with Children and Youth, Grief Counselling, Anger Management and Trauma Treatment.

 

She is an active member in the community serving on a number of committees including: Suicide Prevention Committee, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Advocacy Committee, and the GLBT Youth Planning Committee.
