Alison Maratos - MSW, RSW

Alison Maratos is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier's Master of Social Work program. She received her undergraduate education at The University of Western Ontario, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and at The University of Windsor, where she earned her Bachelor of Social Work Degree.

Alison has worked in the field of community corrections for over 16 years, where she has developed skills in criminogenic risk/threat assessment, domestic violence, conflict management, anxiety disorders and life skills development. In addition, she has worked in the fields of eating disorders, domestic violence and the school system. She has achieved post-graduate training in Gottman Marriage Therapy, Addictions, Suicide Prevention, Risk and Threat Assessment, and Sexual Offending. Presently, Alison is a Professor at Fanshawe College's Social Service Worker program, where she enjoys working with students in developing counselling skills and professional competency.

Alison is a Registered Social Worker and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She has a particular interest in working with anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, and family and marital therapy.
